Information for Parents

Parents are the cornerstone of every child's education. We need parents to be involved in the day-to-day operations of the school. The school has several committees and booster organizations that are focused on making the school a highly productive, wonderful place to be.

At Orlando Gifted Academy, we strive to ensure that all parents/students are well informed:
  • Communication includes emails, phone calls, newsletters, social media, etc.
  • The OCPS Code of Student Conduct is available on our website.
  • Notices and reminders will be sent home with your child as needed.
  • Once a month, your child will be given a copy of the lunch menu.
  • To access staff/faculty voice mail, dial (407) 897-6410 and enter the extension starting with 347.
  • Teacher email and websites will be checked and updated regularly.
  • The OGA News is recorded each morning from the media center.

Parent Teacher Conferences

We encourage you to conference with your child’s teacher at least once during the school year. Both parents should attend all conferences, if possible. This will keep you informed about your child’s progress and enable you to be more closely involved in classroom activities.

Our teachers are involved in classroom planning before school begins and after students leave. If you need to see a teacher, please contact the teacher by leaving a voicemail message. You may also contact them via e-mail by selecting "Faculty and Staff" in the main menu at the top of the page. Unless there is an emergency, we will not interrupt the classroom so that we may protect instruction time.
