Orlando Gifted Academy (OGA) was established by Orange County Public Schools in 2018 to meet the needs of intellectually gifted students throughout Orange County. It is the only public stand-alone magnet school for students identified as gifted in the Central Florida area. Orlando Gifted Academy provides students with a rigorous and challenging curriculum that incorporates standards-based instruction and the Florida Frameworks for K-12 Gifted Learners to meet the needs of each student. Students work individually and collaboratively with peers by developing real-world problems and applicable projects. Students learn the skills necessary to defend their thoughts and ideas while communicating in a positive and respectful manner. OGA provides an environment for students to express their creativity while engaging in independent learning activities based on their interests. Students also have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of content through research and investigating open-ended tasks.

Orlando Gifted Academy (OGA) opened in 2018 as a unique public magnet school in Central Florida that exclusively serves OCPS gifted students with active Florida Educational Plans (EPs). Gifted students attending OGA have a rigorous curriculum incorporating the Florida B.E.S.T. (Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking) Standards and the Florida Frameworks for K-12 Gifted Learners.
Orlando Gifted Academy educators follow an instructional blueprint that considers students’ abilities, their need for differentiated learning experiences, and the pursuit of learning at greater cognitive levels. The culture at OGA is one in which students are challenged to think critically and creatively, conduct thoughtful research, explore passion projects, and develop innovative solutions to real-world problems. Learning is extended beyond the classroom through an array of activities that include before and after-school clubs and academic competitions.
Through a focus on communication, collaboration, and critical thinking, OGA fosters a supportive environment that encourages students to express their ideas, engage in independent learning, and deepen their understanding of content through inquiry and open-ended tasks.
