Clubs at OGA - Fall 2026

Details regarding the clubs offered at OGA during the fall semester are provided below. Please review each club carefully, paying particular attention to grade-level eligibility, participation requirements, and start dates.

Club members will be selected through a lottery for the fall club session. A new lottery will open in the spring for registration of second-semester clubs.

    Brief Description: Students will study the SSYRA books through games and quizzes to work on creating a team. The team will be decided before Winter Break.

    Brief Description: Practice and competition team for Battle of the Books; Competition team will be picked in early January.

    Brief Description: Students will meet to play chess in social and challenge formats. Top-tier students will also have opportunities to attend the county Chess Tournaments in the Fall and Spring.

    Brief Description: Club for middle school students who are interested in learning and playing Dungeons & Dragons.

    Brief Description: Future Problem Solving: Global Issues Problem Solving (GIPS) is an international academic competition and skill-building program where students analyze complex, real-world issues and project them 20 to 30 years into the future. Participating in teams of up to four, club members research dynamic global topics and apply a structured creative process to solve futuristic scenarios.

    Brief Description: Students will work in the garden and utilize the garden for extended learning opportunities that align to the Florida Gifted Frameworks

    Brief Description: Students will work with the Winter Park High Debate Team and Ms. Ronquillo to learn the basics of Debate!

  • Sponsor: Ms. Goldfarb

    Brief Description: Is your child interested in learning higher-level math in a competitive environment? Then, the OGA Competition Math Team is the place for them! The team is run by Mrs. Goldfarb (4th Grade Math/Science), who has been the OGA competitive math coach for the last two years and has also been in Seminole County for seven years. She is looking for enthusiastic team members with a passion for math who are willing to participate in local competitions. Students must take a tryout exam to showcase their math abilities, and only 24 spots are available! See flyer for more details about trying out!

    What grade levels is your club open to: 2nd grade has limited positions, and students are on a case-by-case basis. 3rd-5th mostly!

    Cost, if any: $25 activity fee, and $25 monthly registration fees if students participate in MathLeague.org competitions. All other competitions are included in the activity fee!

    Brief Description: Students will help collect recycling around campus! Helping our school recycle as much as possible.

    Brief Description: Students in grades 4-6 will have the opportunity to explore Lego Robotics and VEX Robotics at an introductory level.

    Brief Description: Students will participate competitively in multiple events covering various scientific disciplines

    Brief Description: A student-run organization that represents the student body and acts as a bridge to school leaders. There will be elections this fall

  • Club Sponsor: Ms. Gutierrez

    Brief Description: In our Speech and Debate club, we prepare for events that challenge students to think on their feet, argue persuasively, and speak with confidence. Our club focuses on building critical thinking, rapid idea organization, conversational debate skills, and public speaking confidence.

  • Sponsor: Ms. Danese

    Brief Description: Students can either come and work on their own knitting/crochet projects and receive assistance if needed/have a place to share ideas, or students may learn to crochet with new skills covered each week and complete at least 1 or 2 crochet projects by the end of the school year.

    Cost, if any: Free. If your child would like to start practicing at home, it is encouraged to get them their own crochet hooks and yarn, but I have materials they may use in class and borrow for home use as long as they return at the end of the school year.
