Principal's Message

Ms. Despenza
Welcome To Orlando Gifted Academy!

“Where we value respect, creativity, and collaboration”

Hello OGA families! We are preparing for the annual Teach-In has been rescheduled to Friday, December 4, 2020. Teach-In this year will be virtual.

In celebration of American Education Week, each November schools invite business and civic leaders into the classrooms in a fun and engaging way -- to talk with students about academics, careers and the future.

Some volunteers read books to students. Some teach practical, personal skills to high school students such as managing a checking account and using credit cards wisely. Others involve entire middle school classes in projects like a mock election. Some give demonstrations using musical instruments or scientific equipment. You can read a book; share an educational experience or your career; talk about a favorite vacation, hobby, or how a special teacher touched your life. Whatever your skills, no matter your topic, there is a classroom of students waiting to hear from you! For additional information, please contact Ms. Brown ([email protected]). You can register here.

Please join us in congratulating Nicole S!!! She won first place in the elementary divison of the 2020 Red Ribbon Week Poster Contest. OWL-some job, Nicole!!! #OWLinthistogether #redribbonweek

Hello OGA families: With additional students returning Face-to-Face on Monday, 10/13, we wanted to share the Arrival/Dismissal Flow Map. There is a School Traffic sign posted as soon as you turn on Oregon St, which directs you to Hardy Ave.

**Parents dropping students off in the morning will receive a car tag.

**The front gates of the school on Oregon will not be open. Drop-off and pick-up will ONLY occur using the above traffic pattern.

As always, please be mindful of and courteous to our neighbors exiting their driveways. Also, please be patient and kind to OGA staff and families as drop-off/pick-up may take longer due to this traffic pattern. We thank you in advance for your cooperation!
